The Manitoba Theatre Centre's travelling production of Armstrong's War performed before a full house at the Avalon Theatre on Wednesday, March 10, 2015. This timely drama, written by Colleen Murphy, examines choices and consequences and the fact it takes courage to face reality.
This is the fourth year we have been able to present professional live theatre in our community and the first year the Avalon Theatre has been the venue. The Souris District Arts Council appreciates the support of the Avalon Theatre Operating Board and Darren Janz for all his hard work to make the theatre ready in time for the play. We are also truly grateful for our volunteers, Sam Phillips, Jim Kohut, Ron Friesen, John Dunn, Albert Lynch, and Kevin and Dawn Bowie for unloading and loading the sets, lighting, wardrobe, etc., needed to make this production a success. Thank you all and we'll look forward to next year.
